Peel Children’s Aid Foundation Brings Holiday Wishes to Children and Families
(Mississauga, ON) – Peel Children’s Aid Foundation launches its annual Holiday Wishes Program at the Seasons Christmas Show at the International Centre in Mississauga on Friday November 20th at 10:00 a.m. Each year in December, the Foundation seeks donations of cash, new toys, clothing and gift and grocery cards for needy children, teens living alone and financially-disadvantaged families who are under the protection of Peel Children’s Aid.
“This year the Holiday Wishes Program is seeking individual and corporate sponsors who can step up to sponsor a family or child,” says Catherine Hinton, Executive Director of Peel Children’s Aid Foundation. “In addition, we are in need of cash donations, gifts for teens, and grocery and gift cards.”
Last year 1,700 families and children received holiday gifts and support through the Holiday Wishes Program. With a sharp decrease in corporate donations and sponsorships due to the recession, the goal this year is to increase family sponsorship and cash donations by 20 percent.
A new online registration feature on the Foundation’s website at http://www.peelkidsfoundation.com/ makes it easy to make a donation or become a sponsor. Donations of cash and winter clothing are also being accepted at the Seasons Show from Friday November 20th to Sunday November 22nd.
The Holiday Wishes Program is accepting donations from Friday, November 20 through Saturday, December 19, 2009.
“The family you help could be your neighbour,” says Hinton. “What better way to help others in the local community than through the Holiday Wishes Program.”
Peel Children’s Aid Foundation is a registered charity dedicated to improving the lives of abused, neglected and at-risk children and youth in Mississauga, Brampton and Caledon who are under the supervision of Peel Children’s Aid.
